I hope and trust you and your family and friends are all well and safe.

Our whole community is now being further stretched by an extended Lockdown and so to provide some creative relief and contact, albeit online – studioMAP will extend its online program from Term 3 – not all classes but most – check the schedule here:   

These will be available throughout the school holidays and onward into term 4 and to a return to studio classes – at this stage perhaps in mid October – fingers crossed.

This moment may have been coming for some time but still we had hoped the ACT could avoid this test and disruption. Some will say we are lucky to have gotten so far, so far…

While all of us are now facing a raft of collective and personal work/life variations, the current take-away for studioMAP is that all classes are temporarily paused.

If the Lockdown continues beyond 7 days  (Thursday 19 August) then we intend to operate remotely via Zoom classes.

The conference call technologies via Zoom will enable us to stay connected, learning and enjoying our painting, drawing and illustration classes via home or remote screen learning.

Much was learnt from last year’s lockdown and Zoom process.

The proposed temporary plan is to schedule weekly – 50 x minutes live Zoom sessions to replace our normal weekly studio classes.

These class times will reflect the usual start times you are already used to.

Your usual start times will be used as our Zoom start times and continue for 50 minutes.

The aim for the Temporary Lockdown Zoom Classes will be to work on specific art techniques with lessons that will demonstrate and expand each student’s skills and inspire more off-line projects.

Through your screen, the  studio will look the same with your teacher addressing the Zoom sessions with some additional technologies to assist the process of the Zoom studio. Were still negotiating with staff – as to who will lead and or assist in the Zoom sessions.

Participants will only require basic materials – Pencils / paper / eraser / sharpener or pens / markers / drawing pads etc.
