Student exhibition – ‘On the MAP’

On the Map, is both a 30th anniversary celebration and exhibition of studioMAP’s term 4 student’s paintings, illustrations and drawings, displayed as a kaleidoscope of individual visual art accomplishments. Also included is a large photo wall, comprising hundreds of photographs of studioMAP events, students and artworks collected over the last thirty years.
Our 30th Anniversary / Term 4 student exhibition – ‘On the Map’ was launched on 2 November, along with M16 Artspace’s 40th anniversary exhibition current M16 studio-Artists and some alumini artists, celebtated with their exhibition titled ‘40×40′ also M16 resident Hands on Studio, with ‘Gorgeous’ and Chutespace (the former library-books return chute at the entry).
Mr Michael Pettersson MLA, ACT Minister for Business, Arts and Creative Industries, Minister for Children, Youth and Families, Minister for Multicultural Affairs, Minister for Skills, Training and Industrial Relations…..officially opened the event and spoke clearly to the significant role we and all the visual artsists (and all arts) plays in our town and region. The night was made especially fun by all who attended and enjoyed our student’s fabulous and inspiring artwork.
So it’s official – we’re on the map!

Additional to our live gallery exhibition is another wonderful and innovative studioMAP project Launched on Nov 8, 2025. The On Map Gallery (OMG) is a unique studioMAP project to further support and develop our student’s art journey.
We now have a Virtual Art Gallery, accessable via our website and links, that allows visitors anywhere, on any device to access and self-navigate simulated gallery spaces – that of course, have our all student’s artworks displayed on its virtual walls for your enjoyment. At the moment, these are reproduced images from the current and real/physical gallery exhibition, down the corridor…in Gallery 2 M16 Artspace until 5pm, Sun Nov 23
